Jonah 4

Matthew Young takes up the book's unsettling final chapter, where Jonah is furious that God has shown mercy to Nineveh. He asks why Jonah was angry and finds three answers that confront the listener: God was threatening Jonah's reputation, God was threatening his idol of national identity, and God was not who Jonah wanted him to be. The message calls hearers to examine what their own anger reveals, to trust God with how they are seen, and to let God be God rather than a reflection of their cultural preferences.
