The Parable of the Prodigal Son

Both sons believe they earned or lost the Father’s love because of what they did. The younger son thought he had lost the Father’s love because he had made a million mistakes The older son thought he had earned the Father’s love because he had done everything right, and as a result he should get whatever he wanted from the Father. Both sons missed out on experiencing the Fathers love by being with him. Both sons failed to realize that the Father’s love had more to do with his character than their action
