The Golden Rule
Jan 25, 2026 • Konnor Massa
Konnor Massa examines Jesus' command in Luke 6 to do to others as you wish they would do to you, showing how familiarity has robbed it of its force. He identifies three radical requirements: we treat others as we wish to be treated rather than as we have been treated, we meet the needs we sit around wishing others would meet in us, and we act rather than merely wish well. Reading the surrounding passage, he shows that the rule extends to enemies, illustrated by the story of Jim Elliot and the Waorani, and that believers can love this way because God first loved his enemies in Christ.
